Sugar Chef
The parent company of SugarChef, The Gardens of Bagatelle, is inspired by the sensations, aromas, and beauty of nature. Always excelling in beauty, creativity, and quality, each gourmet creation is adapted to the specific requests of our customers to elevate special occasions of any type.
Masterpieces of design and taste, our cakes are works of art from the inside out, made not only with passion but with earned insight, expert methods, and traditional manners of baking passed down to us through generations of skilled artisans. As a result, our creations are chic and elegant in appearance yet perfectly executed in flavor and style.
The Story
THE GARDENS OF BAGATELLE
SugarChef is now under the umbrella of The Gardens of Bagatelle, a baking company inspired by the famous botanical garden of Paris. Parc de Bagatelle, located at the Bois de Boulogne, dates to 1774 but today is best known for hosting an international competition of roses each June. The gardens are abundant with the floral aromas of hyacinths, daffodils, narcissus, and roses-nature groomed to its finest, a source of inspiration for all of our cakes, confections, and other creations. Accordingly, Lancôme's fragrance Jardins De Bagatelle, a celebration of the bouquet of scents exuded by the gardens, is the treasured signature parfum of our cake designer.
Bagatelle also refers to Le Bagatelle, or Fraisier, a fine strawberry cake created by celebrated French pastry chef Gaston Lenôtre in 1966. The romantic marriage of sponge cake, vanilla cream, and fresh strawberries announces the arrival of spring and is one of the most classic cakes in the French culinary tradition.
